Susanne Koelbl is an award-winning foreign correspondent for Spiegel magazine, who has travelled in North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Gaza, and Iraq. She has initiated a poetry project (www.thepoetryproject.de), owns a dacha, and has been a war correspondent in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and the Balkans. She loves her Bavarian homeland, has a fondness for its sweet, warm omelettes and lakes, and is a fan of Impulse Europe.
