Jim Avignon is known here in Germany above all as an experimental painter and musician and, more recently, also as a media artist who has often dealt with the medium script in his work. His designs have given many large campaigns a face, his works hang in museums and collections, but Avignon also exhibits in clubs and basement galleries and appears to gain a special kind of energy from doing so. In his talk, Avignon – who works without an agency and without a studio, will be talking about the highlights and the perils of his unusual professional life and telling us how, in most cases, the problem can be seen as part of the solution.
