Gudrun Zapf-von Hesse is a multi-disciplinary designer. In over seven decades she has worked as bookbinder, lettering artist, type designer and even as punch cutter. She has produced numerous books and typefaces for different technologies – ranging from metal to photo type and digital output. Although she has received renowned awards for her work, she never quite received the attention as many of her colleagues in the twentieth century. This talk anticipates a project that honors her lifetime achievement.
