Modular Lettering: Type & Illustration

The body of work shown in this talk by Birgit Palma is a mix of illustration and typography. It underlines Birgit’s deep interest in systems which limit illustrations and capture their love for detail in shapes. Both illustration and typography are heavily influenced by geometry and use letters as a geometric, visual base to illustrate on. Birgit’s talk is supposed to give an overview about her latest projects and the methodologies & process she implemented. Birgit Palma is a passionate multidisciplinary illustrator and lettering addict working and living in Barcelona. She operates out of her own studio founded in 2015, while she previously worked and gained experience at vasava (barcelona) and vault49 (nyc). Crafting at the sweet spot between modern avantgarde and illustration, she is passionate to deepen her love for illustration every day.
